What you think, what will happen if the thread gauges used at several place will get worn out due to constant usage. This is recommended changing of thread gauges periodically to check whether are they still in usable size range.  Intense inspection & physical measurement of the dimension of “male gauge” i.e. a thread plug gauge is not so much hassling because the pitch diameter can be easily amenable in the standard room for metrological measurement. However, dealing with “female gauge” is not an easy task because the measurement of a thread ring gauge is a bit bothering. When a new ring gauge is made to check the correctness “check plug gauge” is use. “Check plug gauge” come into existence when there is need of checking the correctness of female gauge. We need check plug gauge to check the newly made GO ring gauge and, also the NO-GO ring gauge. Moreover, these check plugs will each have a GO & NO-GO member although there is a small concession.
